BTMS 80 (Behentrimonium Methosulfate 80%)
Description
BTMS 80 is a solid pelletized high 80% active Behenyl (derived from the rape seed oil) quaternary ammonium conditioning agent, mixed with Isopropyl alcohol. BTMS 80 is dissolved in alcohol and dispersed in warm water. BTMS 80 is an exceptionally effective cationic self-emulsifying wax. BTMS 80 is a vegetable based viscosity increaser and emulsion stabilizer for creams and conditioners.
It is recommended for use in conditioners, detanglers, deep conditioning relaxers, and personal care emulsions. It is used as strong conditioning agent, antistatic agent and softening agent. When mixed with cetostearyl alcohol a number of efficient hair conditioning blends can be made and this allows to produce palm free claims.
It has good compatibility with other cationic and nonionic surfactants. It reacts with anionic surfactants by forming electro-neutral salts. It’s soluble in water but stable solutions can be obtained by using an excess of an anionic compound.
