Copper tripeptide-1
Description
Copper tripeptide-1 is a potent anti-aging skincare peptide with antimicrobial, skin-soothing, and hydrating properties. Its a type of signal and carrier peptide, used in anti-wrinkle, anti-aging, skin & hair repairing, wound healing. It promotes collagen, elastin, and glucosamine glycan synthesis to restore and improve appearance.
Based on clinical studies, copper tripeptide-1 worked better than retinoids or vitamin C. It does not irritate the skin and is well-accepted by all skin types. Skincare products based on copper-peptide complexes are increasingly finding clinical and cosmeceutical uses. The biological basis for these actions is GHK (Tripeptide-1), a peptide generated during tissue damage with a very high affinity for copper (Cu2+).
Copper tripeptide-1 is a potent antiaging copper compound. Unlike other copper compounds, both the Cu+ and tripeptide-1 (GHK) in copper tripeptide-1 are active ingredients working in their unique ways to produce antiaging skin benefits.
GHK-Cu is also a regular constituent in human plasma, existing at approximately 200 ng/ml at age 20 and dropping to 80 ng/ml at age 60. At hormonal levels, Copper Tripeptide-1 acts as a chemoattractant for fibroblasts (repairing cells) and is understood to activates a plethora of regenerative processes in the skin, such as angiogenesis, production of extracellular matrix components, including collagen, elastin, proteoglycans, glycosaminoglycans, etc, additionally activating metalloproteinases (MMPs) involved in tissue remodeling.
Copper-peptide complexes are used to stimulate the repair of damaged skin and bone, heal ulcerated stomach and intestinal lining (e.g., inflammatory bowel disease), improve the take of hair transplants, and stimulate hair growth.
This tripeptide is a high-purity cosmetic ingredient. It is water-soluble and easily blends with a serum or a cream base. This raw material is packed in a cosmetic vials double-sealed for moisture protection.
