Glyceryl Stearate, GMS 40

Description

GMS40 is a Glyceryl Stearate ester recommended in the formulation of cosmetic emulsions. It is perfectly miscible with almost all oils, fats, waxes, with several esters and some surfactants. It is compatible with anionic, cationic and nonionic raw materials; neutral or slightly alkaline or acidic products,.  Can be used as as emulsifying auxiliary or complementary agent. Also it acts as a waxy solid in anhydrous or emulsified formulations, allowing the increase of hardness or viscosity.

GMS40 is  recommended in the formulation of moisturizing creams, lotions, ointments, antiperspirant, hair care and sunscreen emulsions by providing efficiently:

• emulsifying capacity
• adjustable thickening action
• smooth emolliency
• nice texture
• lubricity

INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE:

GMS40 melts at 70-75 ° C with other oily components.
Water-soluble components dissolved in water are heated at 70/75°C separately. The oil phase is added to the aqueous phase, maintaining the stirring until the temperature reaches 30 ° C.

In some cases also allows the heating of the water and oil phases together.

PERCENTAGE OF USE: 1% – 20 %
